VermontITrocks at TeenFest
Information Technology—and its great potential for a career that pays well—also plays well, as seen in the first ever TeenFest Vermont held recently at the Champlain Valley Exposition.
Hundreds of teens attended the two day event, enjoying a Battle of the Bands, 3 Guitar Hero Rock Stations, 56 exhibitor booths, remote controlled drag races, and more.
Sponsored by the National Science Foundation, VermontITrocks.com put out the word that IT jobs not only mean great paychecks. An abundance of jobs in the field are available in Vermont. And so are the schools that can provide the pathway to these jobs, including Vermont Technical College.
Teens and parents visiting the booth took home information and entered their names to win a free iPod. Shiny blue frisbees emblazoned with the VermontITrocks.com logo were also given away—and were constantly in the air—just like the buzz about Information Technology.
